Theresa Rainey

Theresa Rainey’s appreciation for history, and how it can be embedded within architecture is where her initial passion for interior design began. She obtained her degree from Sacramento State University, close to where she was born and raised. After receiving her interior design degree, with an emphasis in architecture, she decided it was an essential next step to travel, visit and see firsthand some of the architecture that had inspired her throughout her design studies. She spent the next 2 months traveling throughout Europe, before returning stateside and moving to San Francisco, where she began her career. She firmly believes that to be a successful designer you must challenge yourself and stand ready to create solutions that are unique and innovative. She has also found that by challenging yourself personally, it will result in a positive ripple effect, which can help you in furthering your career goals. This is why, in part, she recently chose to make the move to Southern CA to continue her career and grow as a designer with BWD. The following quote resonates with her, as it best reflects her perspective, and her goal as an interior designer- "We design to be visually powerful, intellectually elegant, and above all timeless."
